Fairfax Industrial District – Custom Wayfinding Columns
When Fairfax Industrial District of the United Government of Wyandotte County, Kansas needed new outdoor signs, they chose Graphic House as their expert signage partner. Designed by Gould Evans, our team created custom solutions to fabricate and install stunning wayfinding columns throughout the district. hat pay homage to the 100-year-old district’s history.
Evans’ design pays homage to the 100-year-old district’s history, inspired by a bomber plane first built in Fairfax during WWII, the B25. Many of these planes were being assembled by Rosie Riveters within the district and now serve as a lasting monument with this custom signage.
Each sign features an intricately welded exterior frame, internally illuminated channel letters and bomber elements, as well as an interior color-changing LED column. Graphic House fabricated and installed three of these wayfinding columns in 2021, which marked the first time in their history that the district was identified by signage.
